Common Questions about Neck Pain Relief

woman enduring neck pain

If you are suffering from neck pain, there are several things that a chiropractor on our team can do for you. When patients come into our office with neck pain, however, they often have a lot of questions. We at Spine Pain Center in Summerville, SC, know a lot about neck pain relief. While our chiropractor will work to answer all your questions during your appointment, we have worked to gather some of the most common questions that we are asked about neck pain.

Will my neck pain go away quickly?

Many patients will leave a chiropractor's office feeling a lot better than when they came in, but it often takes several treatments before pain relief lasts longer than a day or two. At the beginning of treatment, it's not uncommon for pain to return after just a few hours. Remember that it will take time for the muscles to permanently move and lead to long lasting pain relief.

Can I take pain medication while getting chiropractic care?

Absolutely. Chiropractic care can be very complimentary to traditional medical care. It's entirely possible to continue with any medications your doctor has prescribed to you. Make our chiropractor aware of them, however, so that they can be incorporated into your overall treatment plan.

How often will I need to see a chiropractor?

The exact schedule of how often you will need to plan appointments will be dependent on how severe the pain is. Typically, though, appointments are scheduled once or twice a week at first but will eventually be dropped to twice a month. By the time appointments are down to once a month your pain will be mostly gone and the sessions will concentrate on maintaining your health.
